Sunday School

Sunday School is Starting Soon - September 13th!

Children are dismissed following the Children's Sermon during the 2nd Service.  Please follow your teachers to your class.

Needed:  Due to the large number of students we are in need of Sunday School assistants.  These individuals must be at least 12 years or older and will help students to the rest rooms, get supplies, and simply be an extra hand.  Please contact the Church Office if you are interested!

Sunday School Art: The pictures below have recently been added to the entrance of our Christian Education center. They were recently done by Chelsey Foulk before she left for school - thank you Chelsey! If you have not seen the new art work in person please bring your children to the invitation to Sunday School.

Children's Message

Seth Leypoldt, our pastor, sees this ministry as his strength. "I love the children's sermon. I never complete the preparation for worship without thinking and preparing for that important message to the children."

The Children's Message is open to children of all ages. The message is always relevant to the scripture passage that day and usually contains an easy image for the children (and adults) to follow. Sometimes treats are given which always brings a smile on the children's faces.

An offering is taken at each Children's Message for our sister congregation in Koforidua, Ghana.

After the Children's Message, children are dismissed for Sunday School. Children younger then age 3 are invited to attend the Nursery with our paid staff personnel.

Koforidua Methodist Church - our Sister Church

An offering is taken at each Children's Message for our sister congregation in Koforidua, Ghana. The church is under the direction of Godson Akushia, pastor.  The Koforidua Freeman Methodist Church uses this offering for the following:

  1. A detached place of worship for a Graded Sunday School as required by the Chrisitan Education Division of the Methodist Church of Ghana.
  2. A Computer Literacy Training Centre / Laboratory. One large room with can be used for this purpose is already available.
  3. Sunday School teaching literature and materials.
  4. Scholarship assistance to needy children in the Freeman Methodist Church and other identified needy children within our ministry area or neighbourhood.
  5. Financial support for Freeman children who attend annual long vacation / school holidays Bible School.
Recently our relationship with the Koforidua Church was featured by the Nebraska United Methodist's.  The following link details a story about a visit from the Tetteh's to our church on May 10, 2009.  The children presented a monetary gift for the children's ministry of the Koforidua Church.
